Back to School Newsletter
August 26th
Dear parents,
I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well and that you enjoyed your summer holidays.
We are all looking forward to the start of our new school year on Monday, August 29th at 9.20am. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new pupils especially our new Junior Infants who start on Monday at 9.45am. For the first two weeks, the Junior Infants will go home at 12.00pm. From Monday September 12th, they will go home at 2.00pm.
The Parent’s Association will be providing a cup of tea/coffee for the Junior Infant parents in the Piers Cafe from 9.45am on Monday morning.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Brennan who will be teaching Second/Third Class this year.
I would like to remind parents that school booklists are still available on the home page of our school website for download. We would prefer if parents could pay their school fees via bank transfer if possible. The bank details can be found on the booklist.
If anyone wishes to purchase an iron-on school crest for their child’s school PE jumper, the cost is €3. Please ensure that your child’s name is on all of their belongings, especially their school jumpers.
Please ensure that your child is in school on time. School begins at 9.20 a.m. Children arriving late can lead to a lot of disruption in their class.
Under the Education Welfare Act 2000 the Principal is obliged by law to report absences of 20 days or more. If a child is absent for any reason a written note signed by a parent/ guardian is required on the child’s return to school.
On a final note, I would like to wish the whole school community all the best for the new school year and I hope you enjoy the final few days of the holidays.
Kind regards
Mr. Darragh Flynn
Principal
