Welcome

Welcome to Scoil Náisiúnta Colmcill Naofa, Moone! We have a wonderful community here in SN Colmcill Naofa where pupils, parents, staff, Parents’ Association and members of the Board of Management all work to create a positive and progressive learning environment.
SN Colmcill Naofa is a mixed primary school. We are a school with a Catholic ethos, under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin and the auspices of the Department of Education and Skills, but we also have due recognition for all other religions.
SN Colmcill Naofa is located in South Kildare, in Moone parish just a short distance from Athy and Castledermot. We have a long history of providing an education to the children in the area. Established in 1911, we relocated to our present building in 1952, which gave us this wonderful educational space as well as lots of green areas and yard space, a basketball court and a pitch.

Late Arrival and Early Collection
School begins at 09:20am. Pupils are expected to be on time. Parents/guardians must provide a note of explanation if a child needs to depart early during the school day. Parents/guardians must call to Reception when collecting a student early from the school.
Attendance
We understand that children get sick and we ask that you adhere to the school policy, that if a student is absent a note from you, the parents/guardians on the day your child returns to school, is required to explain each absence. There is a space for writing these notes, in the back of your child’s homework diary. Download our Statement of Strategy for School Attendance here
